THE THING by Samuel Bunton, 3rd grade

A Creepy Critter Somewhere DARK! It lives somewhere COLD! It smells like a pig that hasn’t taken a bath in years. It has a 2 inch long nose, it’s skin is lumpy, it’s very furry, and brown or black. [Sometimes mixed]. If you were to touch it, it would feel like your touching sand. It eats anything that it sees. If you saw it you would want to be very quiet and hide.
It happened to me once I COULDN’T BELIVE MY EYES!!!! It was eating spiders from under rocks. BIG HARRY TARANTULAS!!!! It roared like a lion as it was chomping down dinner. Then I fell at the creepy critters feet. It roared in my ear. I Looked up and spider guts fell out and landed on my face. I made a run for it.
Then the thing came out of the dark. It‘s big teeth and red glowing eyes were staring at me!!!! Silently the giant thing CAME UP TO ME!!!!
I heard a “Pop!” I screamed “BABIES! NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!” and ran as fast as I could to tell my friends.
