Fellowship Days
We have an all-ages fellowship day open to our members and the public on a weekday usually at the beginning of every month in the Antioch/Brentwood/Oakley, California, area. It is a great time to visit if interested in homeschooling and/or our group. Teens often play sports or board games while the younger ones play on the playground and the moms talk. It's a great time to socialize and support each other.
Monthly Subgroup Events
A wonderful benefit of membership is our subgroups. When you join Homebuilders we help connect your students through events in grade specific, member-only subgroups: Shine (K-2nd grade), Rock (3rd-5th grade), Gel (6th-8th grade), or Alive (9-12 grade). Once-a-month subgroup events are a special benefit for members and we encourage each of our members to take a turn hosting (or co-hosting) an event.
Large, All-Ages Mid-Year Events
Throughout the year we organize large group gatherings for a time of fellowship and fun! It's often roller skating in the fall, ice skating in the winter, and bowling in the spring.
Annual Banquet
We want a fun, safe, Christian environment to recognize our high school seniors. This is a formal event for grades 9th through 12th that includes a delicious dinner, fun photo opportunities, and dancing. Service opportunities are available for 7th—and 8th-grade students. Alumni are welcome to attend.
Used Curriculum Sale/Giveaway
This annual, two-day event, helps members sell, buy, or give away educational items, books, and curricula. It is usually held in May and is open only to members the first day and then to the public the second day.
High School Graduation
Be a part of the Homebuilders graduation ceremony and hear the wonderful stories of what God is doing in the lives of our students! We offer high school graduation tailored to our seniors for a fun and memorable event. For qualification requirements, please see our
policies and
FAQs.
End-of-the-Year Party
At the close of the school year, we have an end of the year celebration with ice blocking, pizza, and other goodies, as you get to know other homeschooling families! This is open to the public. Invite your friends!
Meet & Greet
Our Meet & Greet is wonderful, public event where we have a speaker and people come to mingle and learn about and sign up for Homebuilders and the various groups people are involved with in our community. There is a time where we pause to hear a talk from our speaker, select a winner for the free HSLDA membership raffle, and other announcements/games.
